The march toward total gentrification domination has been making its way for years now. As each landmark restaurant/bakery/supermarket/business closes down, a condo/hotel/cafe goes up in its place. Keep in mind that Boston Chinatown is not that big folks. How the City of Boston is letting this happen is unbelievable.
The latest news is that two restaurants have shuttered its doors due to sky high rents. Hotels have been proposed to take their places.
But, as I write this, there is the grand opening of the Pao Arts Center and a proposal for a library branch to open up once again. But, who will be still living in Chinatown to make use of the new gallery and library?
