I’ve never read any of the Archie comics, but I was familiar with the love triangle and that it took place is Riverdale. Other than that, I just didn’t have any interest in reading it because I didn’t think that it was for me…it was dated — in an era that I couldn’t relate to in a tone that was maybe too juvenile jokey.
But, I had heard about an Archie comics re-camp for 2015 and seeing some of the sneak peek previews of the artwork really amped up my interest. So, when issue #1 released, I picked it up and was very pleasantly surprised. It’s fun and full of teenage romance, high school angst. I also very much enjoyed the artwork. I’m definitely looking forward to issue #2.
