Taiyaki Waiting for Ice Cream

The first time I ever had taiyaki, a Japanese fish-shaped cake, was in Kyoto, Japan in the summer of 2005/2006 during my summer art study abroad.

We had all just come from a market and as we were exiting the store, I noticed a small little stand cooking up some fish cakes. I bought one and it was the most tastiest thing – hot off the maker and filled with sweet red bean.

So now seeing a taiyaki filled with fancy ice cream craze fills me with joy.
