If you haven’t gotten the chance to watch Alice Wu‘s new film “The Half of It” on Netflix then get to it. It was a beautiful coming-of-age story about love, friendship and family.

When I saw the character of Ellie Chu, I time traveled back to my high school self. It was that awkward time in life where I didn’t know who the F* I was or, more likely, was too scared to be me and so ended up hiding…behind shitty-looking wire frames (because they were the most affordable) and books…lots of books – in order to escape having to interact with others or have company while I sat at the lunch table all by myself.

How was your high school experience? And did you rock the Ellie Chu look too?
