My latest four-panel comic for Sampan Newspaper dives into a struggle most of us know too well: acting as the family’s IT tech support. My dad finally hit the “Storage Full” notification, and a quick look of his camera roll revealed a truly chaotic gallery. We’re talking hundreds of artistic shots of his own sneakers, blurry stretches of Boston pavement, and several 56-minute videos of just the sounds of his foot steps. It turns out that while he hasn’t quite mastered the shutter button, he’s accidentally become a prolific documentarian of the ground beneath his feet.
When I explained his phone storage issues, he didn’t care. He just wanted the annoying pop-up to disappear so he could go back to watching his Chinese Youtube videos. After a massive mass-deletion of black screens and asphalt, the “storage full” alert was gone, and he was happy once again – which meant I was happy once again because he wasn’t bugging me.
